Trinity MMA continues to expand our schedule, with more classes available for members. In 2025, we are re-introducing kids classes.
Beginning in Term 1, from January 29th 2025, we will be starting our revamped kids program. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) purple belt Matthew Phillips will be leading our kids classes.
The first term will feature 1 kids class: No Gi BJJ. The No Gi BJJ session is for students aged 6 to 10 years old. The kids class will be held each Friday of Term 1, from 4:15pm to 5:00pm.
The kids class fee for the first term of 2025 will be $10.
Current Trinity MMA members will be able to bring any family members aged 6 to 10 years old to the session free of charge for Term 1, 2025.
BJJ is fantastic for kids to learn in a structured and supportive environment.
BJJ helps kids improve their physical skills, like body awareness, strength, and coordination, while also building their social skills. Training BJJ requires working with a partner to practice the skills taught by the coach, which supports developing effective communication, respectful behaviours, and confidence.
BJJ is a recognised sport. There are many opportunities to compete at local, national and international events. The International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) hosts competitions regularly, and there are also many other organisation supporting an active BJJ competition scene.
Please contact the Trinity MMA team if you have any questions about the new kids BJJ classes in 2025.
